Humanitarian Activities

In 2006 His Holiness commenced work on the Druk Pema Karpo Clinic on the same site as Druk Amitabha Mountain. He also began his teaching on Live To Love:

. . . ‘our lives have to be active and we have to use our lives to love and to help beings’ . .

He started to train the nuns to go out into world to extend their help to those less fortunate. The clinic is a very important starting point for this vision – so far the nuns have been trained to run eye treatment camps for the local people as well as administering treatment to burns victims, two very prevalent problems in the local area.

Other projects which the nuns have been involved with include:

  • Planting trees in Ladakh
  • Providing basic essentials such as blankets and lamps to the local community
  • Construction of the road leading up to Druk Amitabha mountain, to ease access to the clinic and help the local people
